Oklahoma State University (OSU) is committed to a series of proactive measures designed to enhance disability access to all sponsored programs, activities, services, and job opportunities. The Office of ADA Compliance provides direct assistance to help facilitate reasonable accommodations needed by employees and supervisors, while networking to help facilitate employment opportunities for students and other persons with disabilities. In addition, assistance is provided to the Office of Student Disability Services to help facilitate student accommodations as needed.
Service Opportunities
All programs to enhance disability access are coordinated through two organizations of volunteers who help coordinate plans, provide budget recommendations, and implement various programs and service opportunities. The ADA Advisory Council (ADAAC) for Individuals with Disabilities is an open-membership service organization that has informal meetings to provide direct input into the planning process. The Committee for Campus Accessibility (CCA) consists of organizational representatives from throughout the campus and members of the ADAAC who meet to formalize recommendations and help implement programs. A variety of service opportunities are available for those interested in helping to improve disability access efforts; please call for details.
Complaint Processing
The Director of ADA Compliance has been appointed by the President of OSU as the Coordinator of ADA Compliance and as Section 503/504 Coordinator under the U.S. Rehabilitation Act of 1973. As such, anyone who has a complaint about a disability-related program or service offered by OSU should contact the Director and each complaint will be processed on a confidential basis to seek a satisfactory resolution using both informal channels and, when necessary, normal OSU complaint and grievance procedures.
