CEAT Scholars Program

Purpose

  • To develop technical competence, a broader world view, and leadership abilities.

Selection Criteria

  • Be in or near the top 10% of the student's high school graduation class.
  • Minimum composite ACT score of 29 (SAT 1230) and an ACT Math sub score of 30 or greater (SAT Math 600).
  • Demonstrated leadership in high school and community.

Program Benefits

  • Tour of engineering facilities with visits to corporate headquarters.
  • Ten day tour of industry sites, historical, and cultural areas of Washington, D.C.
  • Fourteen day tour of industry and cultural sights in Japan, Germany, or other international destination.
  • Specifically designed freshman engineering experience class with a leadership emphasis.
  • Informal meeting with the Dean of CEAT and OSU administration.
  • Opportunity for participation in Oklahoma Scholar-Leadership Enrichment Program.
  • Live in an engineering living learning center with other scholar program participants.

Retention Requirements

  • Scholars will be expected to maintain a minimum 3.25 cumulative GPA in order to continue in the program.
  • Scholars are expected to complete a full-time schedule of courses toward a degree in the College of Engineering, Architecture, and Technology.
  • Participate in the required Scholars Program events.
  • Membership in CEAT organizations and student chapters of professional engineering and architecture societies.
