NENGOw.

Syntax Description

specifies the width of the output field.

Default:	10
Range:	2-10

The NENGOw. format writes SAS date values in the form e.yymmdd, where

e: is the first letter of the name of the emperor (Meiji, Taisho, Showa, or Heisei).
yy: is an integer that represents the year.
mm: is an integer that represents the month.
dd: is an integer that represents the day of the month.

If the width is too small, SAS omits the period.

The example table uses the input value of 13887, which is the SAS date value that corresponds to January 8, 1998.
