POLICY

Traffic Control
1.01 Vehicular and pedestrian traffic on campus is regulated through signs, signals and police officer direction.
1.02 Information on the traffic control and parking related signs and devices shall pertain directly to regulations of parking and traffic as defined in the OSU Parking and Traffic Regulations.
1.03 The Parking and Traffic Regulations booklet shall be revised annually by a committee appointed by the President of OSU. The revised regulations are reviewed and approved by the Vice President for Business and Finance and the President.
1.04 Enforcement of the Parking and Traffic Regulations is the responsibility of the OSU Security Department.
1.05 Maintenance of signs, change of signs and addition or deletion of signs for traffic and parking control shall be implemented by the OSU Physical Plant at the direction of the OSU Director of Security.
1.06 All signs and graphics shall comply with the directions of the Campus Graphics Committee, the graphics consultant report and the Uniform Code of Traffic Control Devices.

Campus Barricades and Warning Signs
1.07 Necessary barricades, suitable and sufficient lights, signals, flagmen and/or other control devices shall be erected and maintained to provide all necessary precautions for the protection of the work and safety of the public.
1.08 Suitable warning signs shall be provided to properly control and direct traffic, both motor vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
1.09 No existing street or drive on the campus shall be temporarily closed or partially closed until the plans for such closing, and arrangements and sufficiency of barricades, lights, or the such, have been approved by the Security Department, Safety Department and where applicable shall be coordinated with the owner’s representative.
1.10 These provisions will be required of all services including, but not limited to contractors, Physical Plant, and Student Services Maintenance.
