Why a Basic Research Administration Program?
Land grant universities have three important missions: instruction, extension, and research. These are
inter-related functions and each serves to strengthen the others. A successful research project, whether in the
physical or life sciences, the fine arts or humanities, requires input and oversight from a variety of individuals at
all levels of the university.
How Does the Basic Research Administration Program Work?
The program consists of 12 seminars which must be completed in
three years from the date of your first class.
If you have attended any of the 12 seminars within the last 12 months, you may not need to repeat the seminar.
Simply call OSU Human Resources/Training Services (405) 744-5374, and let them know the seminar and date attended.
Are Courses Available Only to Those Enrolled in the Program?
No. All courses are open for enrollment to everyone.
What Happens When I Complete All of the Requirements?
Once you have finished the required 12 programs, submit a
completion form on-line at
http://hr.okstate.edu. We will verify your attendance and issue a certificate showing your
successful completion of the OSU Basic Research Administration Program.
How Long Does it Take to Complete the Program?
Some employees will be able to complete the entire program in one year; however, employees have up to
three years to
complete the program requirements.
