Hey there ladies and gentlemen! The OCA trip was a blast! However, I'm having to catch up on my sleep and my throat is sore(probably from singing too much in the car... hehehe). Anyways, without further ado, here's my report: 1. What was the BEST thing about the OCA Training/Trip? Considering it was my first leadership conference, nearly everything at the training was new and exciting for me, but meeting new people at the OCA training was one of the best aspects. Because everyone at the training had a common purpose for being there, I felt that we connected very easily. Although we were the only out-of-staters, the "Texans" took good care of us by being so inviting. The facilitators were awesome too! Their enthusiasm and patience made everyone feel comfortable. 2. What did you LEAST-LIKE about the OCA Training/Trip? The length of the training crammed into 1.5 days was a bit tedious for me. The training was literally ALL DAY on Saturday, but the facilitators were extremely understanding and did their best to accommodate us by playing games to energize us. 3. What was your OVERALL impression of the OCA Training/Trip? Insightful. We were asked questions that I've never considered taking the time to reflect on before. The training was also very well organized. I was impressed with Eveline's and David's smooth presentation of the materials. They didn't waste any time at all. The location of the conference was great too. The drive to Houston was far enough to be a road trip, yet close enough to... well, drive. It was fun to walk around Rice University too. 4. What was your BEST MEMORY of the entire OCA Training/Trip? Bonding with all the OSU buddies was AWESOME! I love you guys!!! I feel a lot closer to everyone here after the trip, and I have a greater understanding why having VASA and AASA on our campus is so important. Meeting new people throughout the trip was great as well. Eating at Sinh Sinh for our last meal in Houston with the Rice students was a great way to end our stay there. I got to go to SO MANY new places in Houston that I wouldn't have the guts to go without everyone's enthusiasm and encouragement (i.e. the Roxy... thanks everyone for making me feel comfortable!). The entire trip was amazing because we always had fun! 5. What is YOUR RECOMMENDATION of the OCA Training? I, of course, strongly recommend EVERYONE to go to the OCA training. One can only benefit from such an experience. Spring break was very well spent for me. 6. Other (not referring to Race- more like "other comments") Thanks everyone for having such a great attitude all through the trip! You girls are wild, Lisa and Linh... and so much fun! Tri, Duy, Benson, and Sean... you guys are real gentlemen. A special shout out to Tri and Benson for driving! I really appreciate your efforts! :) Love, Luck, and Lollipops! Pauline
