Beta Athletics

Beta Theta Pi take pride in competing for the intramural sports title every year. Our dominance over the last one-hundred years is proof that we hold the best athletes of any house on campus year after year. Currently we have won the intramural sports championships at OSU 9 of the last 10 years and 79 of the last 100 years.

Last year Beta Theta Pi finished first in basketball and flag football, two of the main intramural events. We got second in Wrestling, Soccer, and Softball. We had 9 other individual champions in such sports as squash, pickball, and racquetball, and tennis.

The Beta Theta Pi flag football team has gone to the National Flag Football tournament the last two years. After traveling to Norman to beat the OU-flag football champions, the team qualified to to represent the state of Oklahoma in the National Flag Football Championships in New Orleans over Christmas break. In 1996 we finished 13 out of 175 team as our best showing yet.

After winning the coveted All Sports Trophy for the sixth year in a row, in 1994, the University retired the trophy to the house. As a Beta, athletics is something that is taken serious. The Beta's feel that this is something that has helped build our brotherhood to what it is today.
