Peruvian, OSU Set Up Exchange Program, Spring 1998

Peruvian faculty and students working on the base map in Landscape Architecture Design Studio

The Landscape Architecture Program at Oklahoma State University is hosting 12 people from the Universidad Peruana De Ciencias Aplicadas, Lima, Peru, for a four week exchange program beginning Feb. 15.

This will be the second time of the exchange program, with the Peruvian students studying on the OSU campus and OSU participants traveling to Peru in May, according to Charles Leider, director and professor of the OSU Landscape Architecture Program. The student will participate in a joint architectural and landscape architecture studio design classes working on a ancient ruin site in Chavin De Huantar.

OSU plans to send students to Peru May 16 to June 7. Participants will be required to maintain a daily journal and develop an annotated photographic essay or sketch book guided field trip or a report on a directed research topic. Total cost for each person in the exchange program is about $1,900 to $2,500, with $800 being designated for airfare, plus tuition if the program is taken for credit. Anyone interested in applying for the landscape architecture exchange program should contact Dr. Leider at 744-5420.
