Why I joined honors: I joined honors to try it out, and it has by far been
the biggest enhancement to my education and experience at OSU. From the
getting to work with top faculty and professors on research projects and the
extra Honors advising that students get. The Honors Degree looks great on a
resume and provides a ton to discuss with employers during interviews. Oh,
and priority enrollment.

Mishael Farrand

Year at OSU: Sophomore
Hometown: Edmond, OK
Why I chose OSU: I chose OSU because it seemed like a great campus with a
friendly environment. It's close to home, yet far enough away for freedom,
and a lot of my family has gone here so I know I will be getting a good
education.
Why I joined honors: I joined Honors because I heard that the classes were
smaller and the opportunities for learning higher. The whole experience is
much more personal. Plus, it looks really good on your resume!
Michaela Fowler
Major: International Business
Minor/Emphasis: Spanish
Year at OSU: Senior
Hometown: Sturbridge, MA
Why I chose OSU: I loved the atmosphere and friendliness of everyone on campus. The whole school seemed so up-beat and alive. I also wanted a big school that had plenty of school spirit and activities for students. OSU was definitely a great fit for me!
Why I joined honors: Though I was looking for a large school, the idea of smaller classes that were taught by experienced professors was something that I found appealing. I also wanted to live in Stout, where I would be around other honors students.
Reagan Haas
Major: English
Minor/Emphasis: Spanish
Year at OSU: Junior
Hometown: Muskogee, Oklahoma
Why I chose OSU: I chose OSU because the campus provides a friendly learning
environment.
Why I joined honors: Joining the Honors College allowed me to have smaller
class sizes, similar to a private school setting, while still enjoying the
benefits of a large, Division I university. Also, having the opportunity to
get to know my professors personally would provide me with an entirely new
dimension to my learning experience.

and open to making you feel welcomed here.

know the professor one-on-one so if you need extra help or a conflict arises
it's much more likely for the professor to be understanding and helpful.
