"Active" Status in the Honors College
Students are considered "active" in The Honors College as
freshmen and sophomores if they are undertaking at least six
hours of honors work each semester and twelve honors hours
any two consecutive semesters. [This means that the number
of honors credit hours completed the previous semester (with
grades of A or B) plus the number of honors credit hours that
a student is taking during the current semester must total
at least 12.] Juniors and seniors are considered active if
they undertake at least three hours of honors work each semester.
Active status is determined anew each semester, and active
participants earn the following fringe benefits: priority
enrollment for the following semester, use of the Honors College
computer lab and study lounge, extended library checkout privileges,
and the option to live in honors housing.
