"In January 2002, Philip began running his own research experiment which he is continuing to this day. Philip is the first undergraduate in our research project that we have had the confidence in to run his own experiments. The data he is collecting is invaluable in gaining a better understanding of how sex pheromones attract moths. His research is also generating information for predicting the source of infestations. This will ultimately reduce the number of insecticides applied when only a specific area has to be treated. The results from his study have the potential to cause major commercial producers of insect pheromones to lower the pheromone concentration in lures so that they will be a more effective and useful tool in detecting insect infestations. Philip will be presenting results from his research at a regional professional meeting in Oklahoma City later this month.
Over twenty student employees have worked in our research program during the last several years. Philip continues to outshine all in his dedication and commitment to do his best in all aspects of his work."
