What Is It?
Philip Morton, the OSU Student Employee of the Year for 2002-2003 stands with OSU President Dr. David J. Schmidly in front of the Student Employee of the Year parking spot.
The plaque was presented to Philip at the Student Employee of the Year reception, during which all student employee nominees were honored.
Each spring, as part of National Student Employment Week, Oklahoma State University chooses a Student Employee of the Year. This student is selected as someone who best embodies the contributions and achievements of students who work while attending college.
The contest is sponsored by the Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid and OSU Career Services in conjunction with the National Student Employment Association's (NSEA) National Student Employee of the Year contest. The OSU Student Employee of the Year will compete at the regional level and if successful will eventually compete nationally. The winner of the national contest will receive an all-expense paid trip to Boston for NSEA's national fall conference and a $500 cash award.
Eligible Students
Undergraduate students employed on campus and Graduate students who are on the student employee payroll and who are performing student employee jobs (not Resident Advisors, Graduate Assistants, or Teaching Assistants) are eligible.
Eligible Terms of Employment
Students must have been employed for a minimum of 3 months full-time (20 hrs/week) or 6 months part-time between July 1, 2003 and June 30, 2004 (anticipated). This is equivalent to 240 working hours during the year period.
