Guide to Scholarships
This guide is for students attending Oklahoma State University. For ease in downloading the information, the Guide has been divided into separate documents. Scholarships awarded by academic colleges are listed by college. All other scholarships, including General University scholarships and those awarded by non-academic units, are included in the "General Scholarships" document. If you have questions about any of the scholarships listed in this guide, contact the department, college, or office that offers that scholarship. You will find the appropriate contact information at the beginning of the section that lists the scholarship.
INCOMING FRESHMAN AND TRANSFER STUDENTS:
If you are an incoming Freshman or incoming undergraduate Transfer student to OSU, you will be considered for scholarships when you complete the Application for Admission/Scholarships.
If you will enter OSU as a new freshman or transfer in fall, your application will receive priority consideration if it is submitted by February 1st of the previous spring. If you will enter OSU as a new freshman or transfer in spring, you should apply by the previous October 15. (We will accept your application after these dates, but your chances of receiving a scholarship award with a late application are significantly reduced or perhaps eliminated entirely, depending on available funding. Nevertheless, as the admission and scholarship applications are one application, you are encouraged to apply, even if after the February 1 or the October 15 deadlines.)
UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS
If you are currently an Undergraduate student at OSU, we recommend that you:
- Complete and submit the "OSU Scholarship Application for Continuing and Readmitted Undergraduates" by February 1 of every year if you expect to return to OSU as an undergraduate student in the following year, even if you already have a cash or tuition waiver scholarship. (The deadline is February 1st. We will accept your application after February 1st, but your chances of receiving an award with a late application are significantly reduced or perhaps eliminated entirely, depending on available funding. Nevertheless, you are encouraged to apply, even if late, but for the best chance to receive an award, apply no later than February 1 each year.)
- Check with your college and academic department periodically to inquire about scholarships they may offer. The application deadlines for these college and departmental awards vary by college, so check with yours to see what deadline you must meet.
- Check the Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid web site periodically to learn about Outside (non-OSU) scholarships offered by professional organizations, foundations, and corporations for which you may be eligible.
GRADUATE STUDENTS
If you are currently a Graduate student at OSU, we recommend that you:
- Check with your academic department periodically to inquire about scholarships for which you may be eligible. The application deadlines for these college and departmental awards vary by college, so check with yours to see what deadline you must meet.
