Gates Millennium Scholarship Application Workshops
The Gates Millennium Scholars (GMS), funded by a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, was established in 1999 to provide outstanding low income African American, American Indian/Alaska Natives, Asian Pacific Islander American, and Hispanic American students with an opportunity to complete an undergraduate college education in any discipline area of interest. You may be considered for a Gates Millennium Scholarship if you:- Are African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Hispanic American, or Asian Pacific Islander American;
- Are a citizen/legal permanent resident of the United States;
- Will graduate from high school in 2008 with a cumulative GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale;
- Will be entering a U.S. accredited college or university as a full-time; degree-seeking freshman in the fall;
- Have demonstrated leadership abilities through participation in community service, extracurricular or other activities;
- Meet the Federal Pell Grant eligibility criteria (click here for more info).
Let our trained staff help you prepare to submit the application on the web and help you prepare to write the essay portion of the application. We will also have a session for parents/guardians who are interested in learning about the Gates Millennium Scholarship Program and financial aid in general.
