TCC FAQ - For OSU Students Taking Courses Through Tulsa Community College

Important Information for Academic Advisors

Can I receive financial aid for course(s) I take at Tulsa Community College (TCC)?

Yes, if they are part of your degree program and your academic advisor approves the course(s).

How do I start the process to receive financial aid for the course(s) I take through TCC?

You must first complete the FAFSA and include the OSU school code (003170).  Then, contact your academic advisor to complete the appropriate paperwork.

Will my financial aid be paid directly to TCC?

No, it is your responsibility to pay TCC directly. Your financial aid will be disbursed to your OSU bursar account and any excess will be refunded back to you.

If I'm taking all my courses at TCC can I still receive financial aid from OSU?

Yes, as long as you are seeking a degree from OSU and your academic advisor approves the course(s).

How does my bill at TCC get paid? When is it due?

You are responsible for paying your bill at TCC, using your own personal resources. PLEASE BE AWARE that TCC may cancel your enrollment if you do not pay your bill by the end of their drop/add period. You may want to sign up for TCC's payment plan. You can access more information about payment plans offered by TCC at www.tulsacc.edu

If your TCC enrollment is cancelled, OSU Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid may be required to adjust your financial aid package based on the adjusted number of enrolled hours. In some cases, you may be required to pay back some of the financial aid already disbursed to you.

What happens if I withdraw from one or all of my TCC courses?

Your eligibility for financial aid is based, in part, on the number of hours in which you enroll.  Any changes to your enrollment may change financial aid eligibility. Please contact the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid because each situation is unique.

Can I ever be required to pay back financial aid I've already received?

YES!!  If you drop a TCC class, you could be required to pay back financial aid you already received during the same semester.  You should contact the Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid before dropping or withdrawing from any course because each student's situation is unique.  For example, students who drop a TCC short course before it begins (even though it may not start until the middle of the semester) may have to pay back some or all of their financial aid that has already been paid to them.
