Educational Talent Search (ETS) is one of the federally-funded TRIO programs through the U.S. Department of Education. It is designed to assist low-income and first-generation college students with the career and college decisions they need to make. OSU's ETS program works with students in 6th - 12th grade from selected communities within Lincoln, Kay, Pawnee, and Payne counties in Oklahoma.
The student and legal guardian complete a two-page application; the form asks for basic demographic information as well as the family's taxable income and number in the household. The application also includes a release form allowing the OSU Educational Talent Search coordinators access to the student's academic records, including test scores. The coordinators will review the applications and notify the student of acceptance into the program.
