Auditing

Retirees may audit OSU courses (except Music, Art, or lab classes) at no cost. The instructor’s permission is required to audit any classes. (Call the University Registrar, 744-6876, for details)

Colvin Center:

OSU retirees may purchase an activity card and obtain locker and towel rental at the same rate as active faculty and staff. (744-5510)

Edmon Low Library:

As per the policy for active faculty and staff, books, software and other permissable materials may be checked out for 180 days. OSU/ Emeriti ID card is required. Also, Emeriti may access digital library services through the internet at http://www.library.okstate.edu/dls/ . For help, please call the librarian for this area at 744-9780.

ID Cards:

An OSu Emeriti photo ID card may be obtained in room 432 of the Student Union. Old OSU ID cards can be traded for a free OSU Emeriti Card. The fee for replacing a lost card is $16.00. Lost cards are to be reported right away as they can be used at the Edmon Low Library (to check out books) and at the OSU Book Store (to make purchases) among other things.

Internet:

All of the computer labs on campus are now restricted to student and faculty use only. Those who want access to the internet from their home computer for a discounted rate can contact the OSU Information Technology website: http://home.okstate.edu/isp and follow instructions.
Chickasaw Telecommunications, Inc. provides technical support. Call533-24444 or toll free: 1-866-335-3405. Cost: one-time sign-up fee = $15; monthly fee = $12.50.

Lake Carl Blackwell

There is no charge for day visitation for OSU Emeriti and spouses. All other required permits (fishingm boating, etc.) may be purchased at hone-half price charged to the public. To take advantage of the discounted prices, an OSU Emeriti card must be shown at the LCB Headquarters or Fee Collection Booth. Vehicles not displaying a permit are subject to ticketing by OSU PD. Call 372-5157 for details. (The regular fee is $24.00.) The Oklahoma state fishing license, which is free to Senior Citizens, cannot be used at Lake Carl Blackwell. (744-8502)

Campus Parking:

Retired OSU employees with twenty years or more of service may obtain free permanent parking permits from the OSU Police Department (USDA Building). These permits must be renewed every year. Other retirees may purchase annual parking permits. Emeriti parking permits are valid ONLY for the personal use of the retiree to whom they are issued and cannot be loaned to students, friends or family. Parking permits of deceased OSU retirees must be returned and may not be used by their widows/widowers. Annual parking passes are provided to the executive officers of the Emeriti Council who do not qualify for a parking pass. Call 744-4324 for details.

Student Union Parking Garage:

OSU Emeriti are provided a 50% discount on hourly parking in the S.U. Garage with a minimum charge of one hour parking at the current rate. Current Emeriti ID must be presented to the Parking Attendant to receive the discount. (744-9887)

OSU Sporting Events:

Season tickets for OSU home games may be purchased for the same discounted price that is offered to active Faculty and Staff. Quantities per Emeriti customer are limited to four per sport, except for men's basketball which is two. Persent an OSU Emeriti ID to the Athletic Tickrt Oficed or mail a photocopy with the ticket order form to receive the discount. Call 744-5745 for additional information.

The Atherton Hotel at OSU:

Except for special weekends (football home games, graduation, etc.) OSU Emeriti are offered a discounted rate of $60.00 = tax/single occupant per night ($71/two). The hotel is smoke-free. Reservations may be made at 744-6835.

The Seretean Wellness Center at OSU:

The semester fee for Emeriti is $87.00 per member or $119.63 per couple. The Center is available Monday through Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Call 744-9355 for details.

OSU Theatre:

Retired faculty/staff are eligible for season tickets at a reduced rate. Call 744-7208 for details.

OSU Music Department:

Tickets to all concerts (except the Masterworks Concert) may be purchased by Emeriti members and senior citizens at the current student rate. Call the Music Department at 744-8997 for a list of recitals and concerts.

OSU Community Transit System:

Citizens over the age of 60 may ride the local OSU buses for $.25 one way. (Students pay for the service on their fee card. Current the Tulsa BOB service is restructed to students and faculty.
