Spring Semester
OLLI News
OLLI @ OSU is finishing the spring semester in Stillwater and Tulsa.

Continued funding with Osher requires 200 annual members by July 2008. OLLI reached 204 members in early February. Stillwater has 161 members and Tulsa has 43 members.

Stillwater Town Hall series has been hugely successful this semester, drawing attendance of over 50 people each Tuesday.

Plans are being finalized to offer the following in the summer 2008:
“Digital Photography” (June 2, 9, and 16; 10 am to noon);
“The Chocolate Connoisseur” (June 3, 10 OR 17; 1 pm to 3 pm);
“Costa Rica” (June 4, 11, and 18 from 10 am to noon).

The Tulsa OLLI is still working on additional summer classes but plans to offer “Quilts of the Underground Railroad.”

OLLI is hosting their first international travel trip to Costa Rica, July 16-24. The cost for this trip is $2501.00 (airfare included).

In Memoriam
Jerrold E. Bradley (1929-2008)
Dr. Bradley was born in Tulsa OK. After serving in the Air Force, Jerry returned to OSU to earn B.S.and M.S. degrees in architectural engineering. In 1991, he retired after 30+ years at OSU as head of the construction management. Then he was employed with FEMA for 10 years. Jerry was a life member of the Emeriti Assn.

Daniel D. Badger Sr. (1933-2008)
Dr. Badger was born in Birdsnest VA. He received a B.S. from VPI, a M.S. from OSU and PhD from Michigan State in Agricultural Economics. Dan joined the OSU faculty in 1964 where he taught until retiring in 1990. During his tenure at OSU, Dan served as academic advisor to over 1000 B.S. students. He was a member of the Emeriti Assn before moving to NC. He is survived by his wife, Betty Jo, of 51 years.

Robert Carl Fite (1915-2008)
Dr. Fite was born in Brinkman OK. He received his PhD in geography from Northwestern Univ in Evanston ILL. He moved to Stillwater in 1946 and worked as a geography and meteorology professor at OSU. He is survived by his wife, Lucy of 68 years.
