I teach courses in curriculum studies and multicultural education. The classes I have previously taught include CIED 5623 (Multicultural Diversity Issues in Curriculum), CIED 5730 (Special topics: Gender and Teaching), CIED 5053 (Curriculum Issues), CIED 6053 (Advanced Curriculum Studies), CIED 6133 (Theory to Practice in Education), CIED 6043 (Curriculum Leadership), CIED 6030 (Special topic: Post-structuralism and Education), and SCFD 6984 (Diversity and Equity in Education). I also plan to develop new courses on East/West dialogue and Native American studies.
My research interests include post-structural and Asian philosophies, cross-cultural life histories and thought, autobiography and curriculum, international studies, gender issues, psychoanalysis and culture, chaos and complexity theory, and multicultural education. Translator and co-translators of several curriculum texts from English into Chinese, I have worked to introduce North American curriculum texts into the Chinese educational field, promoting international educational exchange.
Following transnational and intercultural paths, I am learning to embody Tai-ji principle in my teaching, scholarship, and life.
