Welcome to the Curriculum Studies Program at
Oklahoma State University!

The Curriculum Studies Program at OSU offers both an M.S. degree Teaching, Learning, and Leadership with an emphasis in Curriculum and Leadership Studies and a Ph.D. degree in Education with an emphasis in Curriculum Studies. The Curriculum Studies Program is designed not only to prepare scholars and practitioners for a variety of professional goals but also to engage them in thoughtful and scholarly dialogue about fundamental educational questions such as:

  • What does it mean to educate and to be educated?
  • What is the relationship between learning and teaching?
  • What is the role of power in curriculum studies?
  • What is the significance of curriculum theory and educational practice?
  • What is the meaning of diversity in schooling?

Housing the Curriculum Studies Project, OSU's Curriculum Studies program is not only a state flagship but also recognized by internationally renowned curriculum scholars, such as William Schubert, William Ayers, William Doll, and William Pinar as a national center for graduate study in Curriculum Studies with an emerging international visibility. The faculty members in Curriculum Studies have authored numerous books and peer-reviewed journal articles and play a leadership role in many professional associations such as American Educational Research Association SIGs, American Association for the Advancement of Curriculum Studies, International Association for the Advancement of Curriculum Studies, Association for Constructivist Teaching, American Association for Teaching and Curriculum, National Writing Project Teacher Inquiry Communities Network, and National Association for Early Childhood Teacher Educators.
