Helen M. Jones Endowed Scholarship
Graduate-(up to $1,000)
- Must be enrolled as a graduate student in the COE
- Preference given to student in Curriculum Studies, with next preference to those studying with in Secondary Education
- Need as well as academic performance will be considered in the selection process
Lloyd L. Wiggins Endowed Scholarship
Graduate-(up to $700)
- Must be a full time student majoring in Occupational and Adult Education (TLL/OCED or EDUC/OCED)
- Preference given to students preparing for leadership positions in state agencies
Mildred Hurst Sumpter Endowed Scholarship
Graduate-(up to $2,000)
- Must be a graduate student
- Must be pursuing a Masters of Science in Teaching, Leaning & Leadership seeking School Library Media certification
Percy W. Oaks, Sr. Endowed Memorial Art Education Scholarship
Graduate-(up to $1,000)
- Must be enrolled in the Graduate College at OSU, pursuing an advanced degree with emphasis in Art Education
- Must be in the final semester of graduate work with an overall GPA of 3.0
- Must have successfully completed written & oral examinations and be completing a thesis or dissertation, rather than a creative component
Toni and Bill Stone Endowed Scholarship
Undergraduate or graduate-(up to $1,000)
- Must be enrolled as s full time undergraduate or graduate student in the COE at OSU
- Must intend to teach
- Must have a minimum of 3.0 GPA
- Must exhibit financial need
- Must demonstrate good character
Amy Louise Wagner Scholarship
Undergraduate or graduate-(up to $1,400)
- Must be a junior, senior or graduate student at OSU working towards a degree in Elementary Education in the primary grades
- Must have a desire to emphasize reading
- Financial need will be considered
Broyles-Willard Family Scholarship
Undergraduate -(up to $500)
- Must be enrolled as a full time student in the College of Education at OSU
- Must be pursuing a degree in classroom teaching
- Must demonstrate strong leadership abilities
- Must remain in good academic standing as determined by the standards established by the OSU College of Education
- Scholarship may be renewed for up to two years provided the recipient maintains established criteria for retention
Clayton A. Morgan Excellence Scholarship
Undergraduate or graduate-(up to $600)
- Must be enrolled as a full time student in the College of Education at OSU
- Must be dedicated to academic excellence
- Must have great faith in the human potential and must be excited about that faith being expressed in helpful, constructive ways
- Must desire to be an instrument in helping people come alive in maximizing their potential
- First preference shall be given to a student with a career goal of teaching or counseling children or adults with special needs
- Second preference shall be given to a student with a career goal of teaching or counseling children or adults in general
Georgan Wallace Reitmeier Endowed Scholarship
Undergraduate or graduate-(up to $400)
- Must be enrolled as a full time student in the College of Education at OSU
- Must intend to teach
- Must have earned a minimum of 3.0 GPA
Wendell A. Sharpton Family Endowed Scholarship
Undergraduate or graduate-(up to $600)
- Must be a full-time student entering his/her senior year in the COE at OSU
- Must be majoring in elementary or secondary education and preparing to enter the field of public school teaching; or the recipient must have taught a minimum of one full school year, having qualified for study in the Graduate College, and be enrolled in the program of graduate study in the field of elementary or secondary education
- Must have a cumulative 3.25 GPA
- Financial need will be a consideration; however, the selection committee need not award the scholarship to the neediest student if another applicant with evident financial need has a proven record of achievement significantly grater than the student deemed to be the neediest
- Preference shall be given to a student who attended and graduated from Charles Page High School and who is from the Sand Springs, Oklahoma area. Should there be no qualified candidates from the Sand Springs area, the scholarship shall be awarded to a resident of Oklahoma who meets the selection criteria.
- Any student who receives any other endowed scholarship awarded by the COE shall not be eligible for this scholarship during the same semester he/she is awarded the other scholarship
Ray E. Brown Memorial Scholarship
Undergraduate or graduate-(up to $1,000)
- Must be enrolled as a full time student at OSU in the College of Education
- Must demonstrate financial need
- First preference shall be given to an incoming freshman who has displayed both high academic achievement and outstanding leadership ability during his/her high school education
- All other qualifications being considered equal, first preference shall be given to a student majoring in Technology Education
- Should a worthy candidate not be identified in the College of Education, the scholarship committee is charged with finding a needy and academically worthy recipient majoring in one of the applied sciences
Leon L. Munson Memorial Scholarship
Undergraduate -(up to $1,000)
- Must be either an undergraduate student classified as a senior in the award year
- Must be pursuing credentials to teach English at the secondary level
- Must be qualified to student teach
- Must be a well-rounded individual with a successful academic background
- Must possess a pleasing personality and good sense of humor
- Recipients' qualifications to student teach will be verified in the fall semester and funds will be disbursed before the start of their student teaching assignment in the spring.
Mary Marie Cunningham Memorial Scholarship
Undergraduate-(up to $700)
- Must be enrolled as a student in the College of Education at OSU
- Must be working toward a degree in Elementary Education
- Must maintain an overall GPA of 3.0
- Must have been involved/worked with day care children
- Preference shall be given to a student from Blackwell, OK
Kenneth L. & Peggy J. King Endowed Scholarship
Undergraduate-(up to $600)
- Must be enrolled as a full time student in the COE at OSU
- Must have earned a minimum of 3.5 GPA
- Must be classified at the sophomore level or above
- Preference shall be given, but not limited to, a student from a rural high school
- Must not be a recipient of multiple awards
Madeline D. Shriver Endowed Scholarship
Undergraduate-(up to $400)
- Must be a full time student in the COE at OSU
- Must be preparing to teach English
- Must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA
Frankie Bohanon Razabek Endowed Scholarship
Undergraduate-(up to $500)
- Must be enrolled as full time freshman student in the COE at OSU
- First preference will be given to a student majoring in secondary education-science
- Must be in good academic standing with at least a 3.5 GPA
- Must exhibit financial need
- Must possess leadership skills as evidenced by an essay documenting experience in high school
- Must be a graduate of a state of Oklahoma public accredited high school
- May be renewed up to three years
Tom J. & H. Ann Dugger Scholarship
Undergraduate-(up to $1,750)
- Must be a full time student in the COE at OSU
- Must be pursuing a degree as an elementary education teacher
- Must have worked his/her way through college
- Must be given the scholarship in their student teaching semester
- This scholarship is awarded by the COE only in odd years
Jean and Hall Long Endowed Scholarship in Elementary Education
Undergraduate-(up to $900)
- Must be a full time student in the COE at OSU
- Must be either a junior or senior majoring in elementary education
- Must have earned a minimum of 3.0 GPA
- Financial need and leadership qualities shall be taken into consideration during the selection process
Lura Schoenleber Looper Memorial Endowed Scholarship
Undergraduate-(up to $800)
- Must be a full time student in the COE at OSU
- Preference shall be given to a female junior or senior in elementary education
- Must be a deserving student who exemplifies academic achievement and leadership involvement
- Must have earned a minimum of 3.0 GPA and may reapply provided minimum GPA is maintained
Robert & Patricia Knaub Endowed Scholarship
Undergraduate-(up to $1,100)
- Must be enrolled as a full time junior or senior student
- Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA
- Must be majoring in elementary or secondary education with plans to teach and later teach at the middle school level
- Consideration will be given to leadership activities
Arlene Starwalt Jeskey Scholarship in Math Education
Undergraduate-(up to $1,000)
- Must be a full time sophomore, junior or senior at OSU
- Must be a math education or math major pursuing certification in teacher education
- Financial need must be a strong consideration
- Must have a minimum 2.5 GPA with no grade lower than a “C” in any mathematic course
- First preference shall be given to female students
- Student may reapply for scholarship consideration each year
Daniel C. and Mary L. Herd Memorial Scholarship
Undergraduate-(up to $750)
- Must be a full time student enrolled in the COE
- Must be majoring in elementary education
- Must be from Oklahoma
- Must possess high ideals and moral principles
- Financial need shall be the first consideration
- Other qualities to be considered are leadership, diligent work habits, genuine interest in getting a college education, personality and the ability to get along with others
- Must have a 2.5 GPA or better
Mary Echo Wheeler Scholarship
Undergraduate-(up to $900)
- Must be a full time student enrolled in the COE at OSU
- Must be an undergraduate student
- Must have maintained good academic standing with a minimum GPA of 3.0
- Must demonstrate financial need
- Should demonstrate concern for others as reflected in volunteer and pre-professional activities
- First preference should be given to an elementary education student
Jameson Family Endowed Scholarship
Undergraduate-(up to $400)
- Must be enrolled as a full time student at OSU
- Must possess a 3.0 GPA or higher
- Must plan to devote their lives to teaching
- Preference shall be given to a junior or senior student
Lacrisha Diane Stephens Earls Memorial Scholarship
Undergraduate-(up to $1,000)
- Must be enrolled as a full time student in the COE at OSU
- Must be working toward a degree in elementary education
- Must have a minimum of 60 college credit hours
- Must maintain an overall GPA of 3.25
- Must exemplify dedication to the profession
Eddie Sutton Endowed Scholarship
Undergraduate-(up to $1,000)
- Must be enrolled as a full time student at OSU in the College of Education
- Must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA
- Must be pursuing a teaching degree
Alice R. Eriksson Memorial Scholarship
Undergraduate-(up to $2,400)
- Must be enrolled as a full time student in the College of Education at OSU
- Must be an undergraduate student within Teacher Education in Elementary Education
- The award shall be based upon the student’s financial need for tuition, room and board, and books
Jo Horner Endowed Scholarship
Undergraduate-(up to $600)
- Must be enrolled as a full time student in the COE at OSU
- Must be pursuing a degree in secondary education
- Must have a minimum 2.75 GPA
- Must exhibit strong leadership capabilities
Kim R. Watson Endowed Scholarship in Education
Undergraduate-(up to $1,000)
- Must be enrolled as a full time student in the COE at OSU
- Student must be pursuing a career as an elementary teacher
- Donor preference is that the student show evidence of financial need and strong leadership abilities
- Scholarship may be continued provided the recipient maintains a minimum 3.0 GPA
Mable Marietta Macey-Oaks Endowed Memorial Art Education Scholarship
Undergraduate-(up to $1,000)
- Must be a full time student enrolled in his/her final year of undergraduate work in the COE at OSU
- Must have an overall GPA of 2.5 and a 3.0 in the are of art specialization
- Must be seriously interested in pursuing a career in Art Education
W. Opal Eastep Collins Endowed Scholarship
Undergraduate-(up to $1,000)
- Must be enrolled as a full time student in the COE at OSU
- Must be majoring in Elementary Education
- Must be carrying a 3.0 GPA
- Financial need will be taken into consideration during selection process
Rachel Dotson Endowed Scholarship
Undergraduate-(up to $1,000)
- Must be a junior or senior preparing for a teaching career
- Selection shall be based on academic achievement
- Must have a need for financial assistance
- Must be enrolled as full time student at OSU
- Must be able to document Native American descent
Grace, James, and Tammy Berlin Scholarship
Undergraduate-(up to $500)
- Student should have a minimum of 3.2 overall GPA
- Student should have a strong desire for teaching science and/or mathematics
- Preference shall be given to the student who wishes to teach 8th grade science and/or 9th grade mathematics. The student must have at least a minor in a scienceor in mathematics including at least 18 hours of coursework in the major field of a specific science or in mathematics.
- The scholarship will rotate between a student who will teach science, followed the next year by a student who will teach mathematics and alternate each year.
- The student must have at least 2 courses in their major fields at the 3000 level or higher, for example-above calculus in mathematics
- The student shall apply and receive the scholarship for the 2nd semester of their junior year to use towards tuition
- Students may receive this scholarship only once
XEROX Corporation Endowed Scholarship
Undergraduate or graduate-(up to $700)
- Must be an Oklahoma resident who is enrolled as a full time student in the COE at OSU
- Must show outstanding potential for the teaching profession
Viola Lacher Holmes Endowed Scholarship
Undergraduate-(up to $1,000)
- Must be enrolled as a full time undergraduate student at Oklahoma State University in the College of Education
- Must be an African American student
- Must aspire to be a techer in K-12 school systems
- First preference will be given to female students
Bryan Close Transfer Student Scholarship
Undergraduate-($3,000)
- Must be enrolled as a full-time student in the College of Education
- Must be transferring into OSU from a college or university in Oklahoma
- Preference shall be given to students from Tulsa County, who exhibit strong financial need
- Preference shall also be given to undergraduate students who are working while attending OSU
- Recipients must have a minimum of 2.5 GPA
Viola Lacher Holmes Endowed Scholarships
Undergraduate - (up to $1000)
- Must be enrolled as a full-time freshman student in the College of Education at Oklahoma State University
- Must be an African American student
- Must be pursuing a degree as a K-12 teacher
**This scholarship may be awarded for an additional 3 years as long as the student continues to be enrolled in the COE, is seeking a teaching degree and is a student in good academic standing with OSU**
OKTOY Endowed Scholarship
Undergraduate – (up to $1000)
Must be a junior, senior or graduate student in the COE at OSU
- Must have a 3.2 GPA
- Must demonstrate exemplary promise in making significant contributions to education
The specific requirements to be eligible for this scholarship will be revised, published and advertised on an annual basis by OKSTOY in cooperation with the OSU-COE. The scholarship will be awarded during the tenure of the College of Education Celebration of Teaching event.
Jan Jewell Endowed Scholarship
Graduate / Undergraduate – (up to $400)
- Must be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student or a graduate student carrying at least 6 hours
- Must be enrolled in the College of Education at OSU
- First preference shall be given to an undergraduate student with a career goal of teaching in the area of special education
- Second preference shall be given to a graduate student majoring in special education
- If no applicant meets the above criteria, a student with a career goal of teaching or counseling children or adults will be considered.
Stephen and Rebecca Smith Endowed Scholarship
Undergraduate – (up to $500)
- Must be enrolled as a full-time student at Oklahoma State University
- Must be majoring in Secondary Education
- Must have at least a 3.0 GPA
- First preference shall be given to an entering freshman from Hughes County demonstrating financial need
