• Faculty member at OSU since 1997; a faculty member since 1984 (University of Northern Iowa, Southwest Texas State University, and Iowa State University)
• Coordinator of overseas camps for children of military dependents
• Manager of Indiana University outdoor recreation center
• Outdoor programmer for adjudicated juveniles
• Recreation supervisor for community-based recreation program

• Leadership and leadership in outdoor recreation
• Gender and diversity issues
• Outdoor recreation-visitation patterns, visitor experiences
• Meanings of parks
