Research Interests
Dr. Miller’s research focuses on physical activity and the exploration of the cognitive mediators of post-exercise affect. In other words, why do people feel better after they exercise? Her specific area of interest is the notion that one’s perception about their exercise performance, or feeling of mastery, impacts the psychological benefits they experience following exercise. She is also interested in finding new, effective ways to promote physical activity and a healthy diet as a means of obesity prevention.
Current Projects
Dr. Miller is currently preparing two manuscripts: The Interaction of Personality, Attributions, and Self-Efficacy Post-Exercise Psychological State with Dr. J.B. Bartholomew of The University of Texas and A Review of Social Physique Anxiety with Dr. J. Ciccolo of Brown University.
Additionally she is overseeing a survey evaluating health knowledge and behaviors of OSU students.
