Oklahoma Center for School Business Management

Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is consistent with the guidelines prepared by the Association of School Business Officials International (ASBOI). The curriculum is divided into four levels: Introductory, Intermediate, Advanced, and Graduate (update) Level. Participants are required to finish the levels in order. Each level consists of a minimum of 30 hours of intensive instruction and hands-on experiences for two days in the fall AND two day s in the Spring. At the completion of the Advanced Level, individuals should be well prepared to pursue certification programs from ASBO International.

The School Treasurer Workshops focuses on the investments, banking, problem areas and school treasurer's responsibilities. Presentations by experts, hands-on experience, and discussions provide intensive training. If you are a new treasurer, this workshop will save you years of trial-and-error experience. If you are an "old-hand," it will give you some brand new ideas.

Auditors report that most record keeping mistakes are the result of a lack of proper skills and knowledge. Oklahoma school administrators and policy makers recognize the need for continuous training.

The Advisory Board carefully selects instructors that are expert field practitioners in their discipline. The participants evaluate each instructor to maintain the highest caliber instructional staff.
