Wilda Reedy Receives Morsani Outstanding Staff Award
Wilda Reedy, senior unit assistant for the OSU College of Education's School of Educational Studies, was named the ninth recipient of the COE Frank and Carol Morsani Outstanding Staff Award for commitment to excellence. COE Dean Pamela Fry presented the award to Reedy on Tuesday, May 31.
This Outstanding Staff Award has been given since 1998 in honor of Frank and Carol Morsani, of Tampa, Florida, who have shown great generosity and support of Oklahoma State University, the College of Education and education and the arts in general.
College of Education faculty, staff and students are invited to provide nominations to the Morsani Outstanding Staff Award. Nominees must hold a Classified or A&P position in the OSU College of Education. "I have had the opportunity to observe her gentle but assertive mannerism and her organizational and interpersonal skills," said Dr. Bert Jacobson, SES School head. "She excels in all of these areas and, as reflected in her involvement in the Leadership Development program, continually strives to improve. I am particularly impressed by her attention to detail. She not only encourages faculty to be timely in their university obligations but also pats them on the back when we are 100 percent in compliance. Indeed, her supervisor Pat Karcher, who also serves as my administrative assistant, asked during times of staff evaluation, 'How do you rate a perfect employee?'"
Reedy has been with the College of Education since April 1982, when she joined the Occupational and Adult Education department. She will be recognized during the COE Staff Appreciation Day reception on July 15 at 4 p.m. in Willard Hall.
