COE Graduate Lewan to Speak at Global Briefing March 27

OSU College of Education graduate Dr. Lloyd Lewan is the featured speaker for the "Dare to be a Leader in the 21st Century" Global Briefing scheduled for March 27 inside Willard Hall Room 010 at 3:30pm. Lewan is the chairman of the board and executive dean emeritus for the Institute for Shipboard Education (ISE), an organization sponsoring the international program Semester at Sea. For 20 years, he served full time as chief academic officer for ISE, leading ore than 20 voyages over five decades, and inspiring students, faculty and staff by introducing them to the people and cultures of the world.
Lewan is the author of To Be a Leader: Leadership Beyond Management (2002) and Women in the Workplace: A Man's Perspective (1988, 1997). He has published articles on gender, leadership and complex organizations and has keynoted for hundreds of organizations.
The Global Briefing Series
The OSU School of International Studies initiated the Global Briefing Series in 2001, just after 9/11, to educate and inform the public about developing events, both in the United States and abroad. Visiting scholars, experts and world leaders deliver briefings to provide a global perspective on current events. The 2008 Global Briefing is presented by the School of International Studies, the College of Education, Phi Beta Delta and Campus Life.
