College of Education Offers Presentation of From the Fires: Voices of the Holocaust on Oct. 20

The OSU College of Education is set to host a special presentation of From the Fires: Voices of the Holocaust on Tuesday, October 20, from 5:00-6:30 p .m. in Willard Hall, Room 010.

From the Fires: Voices of the Holocaust is a play based on extensive research of the era from 1937 to 1945. It traces one individual girl's life during the dark era and focuses on her experiences. The 40-minute video of the play will be followed by a question and answer session with World War II veteran John D'Aquila of Port Jefferson, N.Y.

Though the play is fiction, the opening and closing segments are based on the experiences of D'Aquila, who served in the Army during World War II and helped liberate Mauthausen concentration camp in Austria.

The event is free and open to the public. Please note that seating is limited. If you have questions, please contact COE events coordinator Holly Blakey at (405) 744-8933 or email holly.blakey@okstate.edu.
