Brown, Castle Honored by NAECTE
Two Oklahoma State University College of Education faculty members received the National Association of Early Childhood Teacher Educators (NAECTE)/Taylor and Francis Most Distinguished Article Award, Journal of Early Childhood Teacher Education (JECTE).
Dr. Pamela Brown, Associate Professor, and Dr. Kathryn Castle, Professor and Graduate Coordinator, both teach in the College's School of Teaching and Curriculum Leadership. The pair was part of a research team investigating what it means to teach at the primary school level. The article, "The Nature of Primary Teaching: Body, Time, Space, and Relationships", was recognized for outstanding writing on a topic of high importance for the field of early childhood teacher education. It was selected from all four issues published in 2007.
Additional members of the research team include OSU graduates Dr. Karen Rogers, Director of Elementary Education, Newman University, Wichita, Kan.; Dr. Caren Feuerhelm, Associate Professor, Early Childhood Education, Oklahoma Christian University, Oklahoma City; and Sarah Chimblo, Early Childhood Teacher, Jenks East Elementary, Jenks, Okla.
