CollegePrep-101 is an online program providing students, parents, teachers, and school counselors with information and resources to assist in successful college preparation. Check out the CollegePrep page . OSU-Stillwater Campus Tour allows students to visit the main OSU campus to learn about admissions, financial aid, housing, and campus life. Book Club. The Book Club Project creates a dynamic classroom learning community in which students and teachers are encouraged to engage in meaningful reading, writing, and literary discussion. OSU-Okmulgee Campus Tour. This year the GEAR UP students have the opportunity to visit OSU-Okmulgee (in conjunction w/ Metropolitan Tulsa Urban League), one of OSU's technical branches. Students will learn more about educational options available to them at this campus, which include degrees ranging from watch-making to the culinary arts. College Awareness & Planning Program (CAPP). CAPP is a joint effort among OSU and the Metropolitan Tulsa Urban League. Students will learn about the college admissions process, scholarships, financial aid, and the ACT and SAT. Students will also visit with college recruiters and university representatives. Parents of GEAR UP students are welcome and encouraged to attend the CAPP sessions. Community All-Stars. Community All-Stars are recruited from the Tulsa and Stillwater communities. They speak to the students about college, career, character development, and the importance of education. Professional Development . The YWCA and OSU GEAR UP will host a professional development workshop for teachers entitled Survival Spanish for Teachers of LEP students. Parental Involvement Assistance Program. OSU is involved with Langston University to assist GEAR UP facilitators and administration in promoting all GEAR UP programs to parents. Women of Destiny. Women of Destiny is a life-skills program at Rogers and Tulsa School for Science and Technology High Schools designed to teach students the necessary skills for personal and academic success. Celebration! The GEAR UP Celebration is a recognition program to celebrate GEAR UP students, parents, teachers, counselors, administrators, sponsors, and volunteers.
