Bachelor
of Science in Aviation Sciences
The
Aviation Sciences degree program offers three options: Professional Pilot,
Aviation Management, and Technical Services Management. The program is
a fusion of liberal arts, aviation management, and business courses. It
is a leadership program that prepares students for careers of sustained
advancement and achievement in the aviation and aerospace industry.
Three Options
Graduation from the
Professional Pilot option requires the commercial pilot
certificate with instrument, certified flight instructor, and multi-engine
ratings. The program places a strong emphasis on crew resource management
and human factors instruction and includes the use of a high-altitude
chamber. The Aviation Management and the Technical
Services Management options include courses in management, business,
and aviation industry. These options prepare students for careers with
airlines, aviation manufacturers, state and government agencies and other
businesses in the aviation industry. Internships have been established
with major airlines and airports and are available to qualified students.

Stillwater and
Tulsa
The Aviation Sciences
degree program is available through both OSU-Stillwater and OSU-Tulsa.
In Stillwater, aviation theory courses are conducted on the main campus
while flight instruction is conducted at Stillwater Municipal Airport.
In Tulsa, degree requirements are completed through the Aviation Education
Alliance. Flight instruction is conducted at Tulsa Jones Riverside Airport.
Training Aircraft
The OSU training fleet
consists of C-152s, C-172s, C-172RGs, and BE-76 Duchess aircraft. The
size of the fleet is determined by student load, which permits students
to start their flight training during their first semester. Aircraft are
maintained by OSU maintenance personnel and are in excellent condition.
Student Organizations
The Flying Aggies
Aviation Club is recognized as one of the country's leading aviation clubs.
The OSU Chapter of the American Association of Airport Executives is an
extremely active student organization as well.
Getting the
Job
OSU Aviation Education
programs are highly regarded in the aviation industry. Graduates of the
program have been very successful finding career positions upon graduation.
OSU Career Services, the COE career consultant, the academic advisement
staff, and faculty communicate regularly with employers seeking to hire
OSU College of Education graduates.
Scholarships
Last year more than
$250,000 in scholarships were awarded to students in the College of Education.
Several scholarships are specifically set aside for aviation students
and for female aviation students. In addition to endowed scholarships
from the college, students are sometimes awarded scholarships from state
or national professional organizations. You may also apply for fee waivers,
college workstudy, federal grants and loans, and employment opportunities
on campus.
