India (IITs) participate in a summer internship program sponsored by CEAT
Dean. Brij Bhushan (IIT-Madras) worked on analytical modeling of vibration
signals from CMP process, and Shashi Chandra Maan (IIT-Kanpur) participated
in thermal modeling in CMP using wireless temperature sensor arrays.

· Publications: Research
Yielded 113 peer-reviewed publications (64 accepted or published in
journals and 49 in refereed conference proceedings).
· Funding:
Attracted over $3.9M in contracts/grants (including 12 NSF grants) on
which Dr. Bukkapatnam serves(d) as a PI or Co-PI.
· Students: The
research has been the basis
for 6 PhD, 10 MS theses, two post-doctoral scholars and 22 undergraduate
research scholars (REU). Among these 10 belong to underrepresented
groups. Currently 7 PhD dissertation and 2 MS Thesis advisees/co-advisees
are enrolled, and 1 post-doc and 2 undergraduate students participate.
