We discuss the development of the Queueing Network Markup Language (QNML), which is an XML-based markup language for describing queueing network models. The QNML is a starting point for a standard interchange format for queueing network model specifications. We present a preliminary metamodel for QNML that is based on the Queueing Network Analyzer framework. We also present an XML-based schema to validate QNML.
