- Managing Organizations
Description:
In this class we will explore the basic concepts related to managing people
and organizations. Such topics as motivation, leadership, strategic decision
making, and organizational culture will be discussed. The goal of this class
is to better enable students to succeed in an organizational environment. Class

information Instructors:
Kenneth K. Eastman (Ph.D. - Nebraska) is the Director of the MBA program and an associate
professor of management at Oklahoma State University. His research interests are mainly in the
areas of leadership, extra-role behaviors, and organizational politics. He has published articles in
such journals as the Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Journal,
Journal of Applied Social Psychology, Journal of Management Information Systems, and
Journal of Business Ethics. He is a consultant on such topics as leadership, empowerment,
performance improvement, and organizational politics to such organizations as the City of Tulsa,
the City of Stillwater, Sonic Corporation, Saxton Industries, ONEOK, and Blue Cross/Blue
Shield. In addition, he has received the Chandler-Frates & Reitz (1994), Greiner (1995), and
Regents Distinguished Teaching Awards (1995).
