Telephone Office Hours: Mondays, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.  Email checked daily during the week. 

Objectives:
Develop an understanding of strategic planning, the value of the strategic planning process to industry and how to deploy a strategic planning process within an organization.

Grading:
Three article reports: 1 page, 1/2 of grade written and turned in at the beginning of class. (Second, third and fourth nights, November 11, 18 and 25)

Format for the three articles and book reports should be
1.        How the author supports the strategic planning process learned in class
2.        How the author differs from the strategic planning process learned in class
3.        How you can apply the concepts in your own environment

Planning project: Worksheets 1.1 - 7.0, 1/2 of grade.  Can be turned in each week or at the end of the class.

All students should read all articles, but only one written report will be due.

Feedback:
We will provide feedback on the first assignment.  We will continue to provide feedback thereafter if you are not meeting the requirements.

Strategic Planning Proposal:
Each student should provide the instructors with a brief overview of hi/her proposed strategic planning project.  The overview should briefly describe the project, the rationale for selecting the project, the importance of that project to the organization, the availability of the appropriate data, and the expected support for the project from the organization.
