Centers and Laboratories
Center for Computer
integrated Manufacturing
enterprises (CCiMe)
The Center for Computer
integrated Manufacturing
enterprises(CCiMe) was
established at Oklahoma
State University in
1984. Dr. Joe H. Mize,
Regents Professor of
Industrial Engineering &
Management, was
appointed Center
Director. From 1985 to
1995 the AT&T Foundation
provided continuous
support for research in
areas related to
manufacturing systems
engineering.
Oklahoma Industrial
Assessment Center (IAC)
The Oklahoma State
University Industrial
Assessment Center is
funded by the US
Department of Energy as
a part of a national
program to perform
no-cost energy audits
for small to medium
sized industries.
Macroergonomics in
Manufacturing (MiM)
Research Lab
The MiM research lab was
established to explore
organizational systems
and group dynamics
within manufacturing
companies in order to
improve organizational
performance and job
satisfaction. The first
project, funded by a
National Science
Foundation CAREER grant,
is an investigation of
the "Effects of
Inter-Group Cooperation,
Competition, and
Conflict on Agile
Manufacturing."
Sensor Networks and
Complex Systems Research
Lab
Established in Fall 04,
this lab focuses on
researching sensor-based
approaches for quality
and integrity monitoring
applications in
manufacturing machines
and processes, and other
complex engineering
systems including
large-scale
infrastructure and
lifeline systems. The
research is aimed at
deriving new principles
and technologies to
characterize, model and
harness nonlinear and
stochastic dynamics
underlying sensor-data
from real-world
manufacturing and other
complex systems.
Center for Engineering
Logistics and
Distribution (CELDi)
The Center for
Engineering Logistics
and Distribution (CELDi)
is a multi-university,
multi-disciplinary
National Science
Foundation sponsored
Industry/University
Cooperative Research
Center (I/UCRC). CELDi
helps industry partners
excel by leveraging
their supply chain to
achieve a
distinguishable,
sustainable difference.
Member companies realize
a measurable return on
their investment by
creating competitive
value chains, in terms
of cost and service
quality.
Research Projects
Some of
the key research
projects that have been
undertaken by the
Industrial Engineering
department-
Computer Aided
Technology Transfer
(CATT) Project
CATT is a National
Reinvention Laboratory
initiated in 1994 by
Oklahoma State
University to address
Department of Defense
(DOD) procurement
problems. CATT is a
government-academic-business
partnership. The
principal current
partners are the Defense
Logistics Agency,
Oklahoma City Air
Logistics Center,
Oklahoma State
University, Small
Business Innovation
Research Engineering,
Knowledge Base
Engineering, and Mercer
Engineering Research
Center.
Standard for the
Exchange of Product
Model Data (STEP)
Project
The STEP project, a part
of the Computer Assisted
Technology Transfer
program at Oklahoma
State University,
attempts to assist Small
and Medium Sized
Enterprises to
understand and implement
the 10303, the Standard
for the Exchange of
Product Model Data
(STEP) and further
understand the standard
in academia and
industry.
