Some assessment fee money is reserved for special assessment projects that address current issues or concerns of the institution or of particular academic or student programs within the institution. OSU faculty and staff may submit requests for financial support to conduct assessment studies aimed at evaluating

the effectiveness of OSU academic or student programs
the results of strategies developed to improve student learning at OSU
the factors that contribute to the educational impact of the university experience on students

Proposals
Proposals and budget requests should be submitted to the office of University Assessment and Testing. Proposals should be 2-3 pages in length and should include:

the study objective
relevance of the study to the University assessment program or the assessment plan for a college, school, or department
methods
how the results will be used for program development and improvement
a timeline for completion of tasks
an itemized budget with brief expense justifications (see Budget Request information)

Review and Approval
Requests for assessment funds for special projects are reviewed and approved by the Assessment Council.

Reports
Principal investigators for special assessment projects are asked to submit brief annual reports and a final report upon completion of the study. The reports are included in OSU's annual Institutional Assessment Report to the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education.
