Suzanne Byerley is a former Fulbright scholar in journalism and a Hopwood Award winner. Her short stories have appeared in commercial magazines including Woman's Day, Ladies' Home Journal, and Family Circle. She makes her living editing books and teaching creative writing at College of the Redwoods, as well as conducting private classes in short story and novel writing. She is a past presenter at MCWC with a workshop, From Passion and Polish to Print, that focused on "catching the elusive form and gently beating it into submission."
