In order to provide more challenging events that better reflect the trends in the horticulture industry and to meet the needs of Oklahoma's FFA youth and their instructors, the Oklahoma FFA Career Development Events (CDEs) in horticulture were changed to more closely resemble the National FFA CDEs. Floriculture CDE—2008

  • Although teams are welcome and encouraged to visit the OSU Teaching Greenhouses to study plant material, no admission will be permitted the week prior to the CDE.
  • Registration by 8AM Monday, April 21 , is required to participate in this event.

  • Floriculture CDE Team must consist of four students.
  • Date: Saturday, April 26, 2008
  • Time: 8:00 am, NOTE: Contestants arriving after 8:30 will not be able to participate in the contest.
  • Location: Room 106, Noble Research Center

Scholarships will be offered to the following winners of this CDE. Scholarship recipients must be enrolled as full-time students at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater for the fall semester of the year in which the CDE was won. Additionally, scholarship recipients must major in an undergraduate program in the Department of Horticulture & Landscape Architecture. These scholarships are sponsored by the OSU Floricultural Crop Judging and Design Team.

  • 1st Place Team: $500 to each member
  • 1st Place Individual: $500
  • 2nd Place Individual $250
  • 3rd Place Individual: $100
