Course Objective- Principles of biochemistry and physiology will be used to develop an understanding of the mechanisms of injury and resistance to environmental stresses. Physicochemical processes will be integrated into models of plant responses to temperature stress.

Teaching style- Lectures will be presented with PowerPoint software. Lecture outlines will be available from the HORT 5133 homepage (http://www.okstate.edu/ag/asnr/hortla/courses/anderson/ hort5133.htm) or as handouts. Do not print them all at the beginning of the semester. They will be flagged when ready. Students are encouraged to ask questions and should be prepared to discuss course topics in class. You should read the required selections from the reading list before the concepts are covered in class. Some discussion topics may require additional literature searches to be conducted.

Text- Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of Plants. 2000. Buchanan, Gruissem, and Jones. ASPP, Rockville, MD. Additional reading lists for selected areas will be available from the HORT 5133 web page. Please see me if any required articles are not available.
