Position Title and Location

    Extension Educator, 4-H Youth Development
    Garfield County, Enid, Oklahoma.

Date Available

    This position is available on or after April 1, 1998.

Salary

    Commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Job Summary

    The Extension Educator, 4-H Youth Development is a professional staff member of Oklahoma State University. This person will be a member of the 4-H youth development team and will provide educational leadership for 4-H youth development programs in Garfield County.

    Basic responsibilities will include planning, developing, conducting, and evaluating 4-H programs within the county. Other responsibilities include volunteer leader recruitment, training and management; and the coordination of 4-H activities and other youth programs. Visibility of educational programs and accomplishments, effective leadership with planning committees and volunteers, and accountability to county leadership is expected. Some night meetings and weekend activities are required. The person selected for this position is expected to establish and maintain residence in Garfield County.

    All Extension Agents hired after August 1, 1988, with only a Bachelor's degree are expected to have satisfactorily completed all requirements for a Master's degree within seven (7) years from their date of appointment.

Qualifications
    A Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Home Economics, Human Environmental Sciences, or Education is required with a Master’s preferred. Formal training and/or professional Extension experience is desired. Preference will be given to internal applicants or those with recent OCES experience.
