Position Title and Location

    Extension Educator, EFNEP (Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program) and ONE Program Area Coordinator - 50% FTE
    This position is housed in the Grady County Extension Office, Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Date Available

    This position is available on or after January 5, 1998.

Salary

    Commensurate with experience and qualifications. This position is funded by the ONE Program grant (50%) and EFNEP (50%). Continuation of this position is subject to the need for the position, performance, and availability of funding.

Job Summary

    The Extension Educator, EFNEP and ONE Program Area Coordinator, is a professional staff member of Oklahoma State University. Basic responsibilities are to provide educational leadership to the ONE Program and EFNEP paraprofessional staff in the assigned geographic area; to assure quality in the program delivery; and to manage the budget and resources. Educational leadership includes: providing in-service; directing and providing case management supervision; monitoring performance; and conducting performance appraisals. The paraprofessional staff are located in the following counties: Grady, Canadian, Custer, and Caddo. Regular travel to these counties is required. Additional responsibilities include: working as a team member with county Extension Educators; working under the direction of the District staff and the State Coordinator for Community Nutrition Education Programs; and effective working relationships with other agencies. Flexibility and adaptability in scheduling is necessary.

    All Extension Agents hired after August 1, 1988, with only a Bachelor's degree are expected to have satisfactorily completed all requirements for a Master's degree within seven (7) years from their date of appointment.

Qualifications
    A Bachelor's degree is required in Human Environmental Sciences or Home Economics with a Master’s preferred. Specialization in nutrition is preferred. Previous successful supervisory experience is preferred.
