Position Title and Location
Extension Home Economist/Special Project - State Strengthening Program (50% FTE)
Blaine County, Watonga, Oklahoma

This position is available on or after June 1, 1997.
Salary
Commensurate with experience and qualifications. This position is funded by a five year grant, renewable
each year, from CREES/ES-USDA. Continuation of this position is subject to the need for the position,
performance, and availability of funding.
Job Summary
The Extension Home Economist/Special Project is a professional staff member of Oklahoma State University.
Basic county responsibilities are: (1) Leadership in planning, implementing, and evaluating the State
Strengthening site programming plan; (2) Recruitment, supervision, and reinforcement of volunteer staff in
programming efforts; and (3) Establishing of collaborative efforts among agencies and organizations which
work with children, youth, and families. Office headquarters for this position are located in Blaine County.
All Extension Agents hired after August 1, 1988, with only a Bachelor's degree are expected to have satisfactorily
completed all requirements for a Master's degree within seven (7) years from their date of appointment.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree is required in Human Environmental Sciences or Home Economics with a Master’s preferred.
Specialization in child and family development is preferred. A Master’s degree in a closely related area such as
education, counseling, or social work is acceptable.
