Future Goals: Participate in Peace Corps for 2 years, on to Grad School, then Conservation Biology research / work in international countries.
What interested you in this class? International focus of natural resource issues and conservation and to broaden my thinking on these issues.
Objectives: To get a basic insight on Latin American culture, especially a bit of Spanish Language. I've always heard information about agriculture and environmental hardships competing with everyday needs of the people, but this is the best way to learn the facts first-hand. I hope to integrate the information I learn from this into my future studies and career.
Anything else? I believe everyone should travel outside the US at least once in your life. Preferably staying for an extended period so that they can experience a significant piece of the culture, taking away a new understanding of life. |
